Oak panel Study
Painted panel is 8' wide by 4' tall. "Oak" panel is painted completely flat on canvas. (2D to created 3D "look") Paint: casein. Steps done in following order: 1. Draw with charcoal then block in shapes with yellow ochre and darker yellow ochre (with a little burnt sienna). 2.wood grain technique with wood grain tool using matte glaze of brown and burnt sienna. 3.spatter with burnt sienna and burnt umber. 4. paint with "french liner" highlight and shadow to emphasize inset panels. 5. fine spatter again with brown and burnt sienna.
